Aimed at small craft based, or design-led business, this morning workshop offers participants the chance to examine what they mean by sustainability, and how they can integrate it into their everyday business life. Phil Harfield, who has many years experience working with businesses to develop their design capacity and environmental standing, will introduce delegates to the various issues surrounding the concept of 'sustainability'. He will ask, what the term sustainability means for you and your business.
He will go on to discuss approaches to sustainability such as 'lifecycle thinking', and the role design has to play in finding answers. Phil will provide examples which illustrate how the positioning of your product or service can set your 'brand' apart and satisfy customer expectation.
The workshop will close with an open forum during which participants can explore the issues which affect your business, and begin to define your own sustainable journey.
To secure a place on this free workshop please contact Angela Scott, Future Factory Co-ordinator. futurefactory@ntu.ac.uk or 0115 848 8675.
