Fine Art @ NTU presents the Live Lecture Series

Harry Palmer

A self styled eccentric archaeologist, hardcopy publisher, making art-with-a-smile, prankster and persistent playfulness maker = Harry Palmer's idea are atypical and unusual. Yet, following his fine art degree, he has managed to survive for over 16 years. Largely establishing self initiated projects and activities, discrete oddities in unexpected locations and circumstances, residences, exhibitions, commissioning and being commissioned - as well as curating and directing works and events, he currently co-publishes and is editor of The Eccentric City - the world's first dedicated eccentric tabloid newspaper.

From mythological canal investigations, on-line celebrity anonymity through to a reverse pedestrian (backwards walking) world record attempt, experimental film including early-in-the-morning guided walks in abandoned subways - it's not unusual for strange things to happen to his life...With an undesirable interest to achieve celebrity status nor accustomed to pretentiousness - the passion for the extraordinary and intelligent is paramount.

Thriving on self inventing initiatives and collaborations, more personalised material is now emerging, namely the self proclaimed study and research regarding eccentric archaeology...

Harry Palmer will introduce elements of his portfolio and story guide his way through parts of his work (1990-2009 and pending).
