Brand new comedy-drama comes to the Nottingham Playhouse in June. Garage Band is the story of four forty-something friends who try to recapture the energy of their youth, and bring some excitemeny back to their increasingly staid and steady lives, by forming a punk band.

Danny, Penny, Gavin & Alan each have bery different memories of the adrenalin-fuelled days of the late '70s, the days before they 'tidied up. Got a job. Bought a house'. These memories resurface as the band gather momentum and, as their music intensifies, so does the friction between the friends.

Garage Band features a live soundtrack celebrating the music that was so important to a generation, including The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers and The Ramones. For some it will be a reminder of just how good it felt to challenge conformity. For everyone it's a story about maintaining spirit and friendships when faced with the sobriety of life.
