Doug Fishbone

Doug is a video and performance artist whose work explores the use of still imagery in a narrative context. He weaves downloaded imagery from the internet into an elaborate visual tapestries tha question the way information is presented and interpreted, and ask a broad range of philisophical questions about the nature of reality, the relativity of perception and consciousness, and the role of context in framing and shaping meaning. His work is heavily influenced by the rhythms and inflections of stand-up comedy, and he recycles the visual landscape of the mass media to take a satirical look at life in contemporary society.
