Mark Waugh

Mark Waugh is Executive Director of A Foundation, one of the UK's most dynamic commissioning and exhibition bodies with spaces in Liverpool and London. A Foundation regularly publishes A Bulletin in which the artists in its orbit are invited to talk about their practice in their own words. For A Foundation the process of creating art is always in itself a platform for inspiration and reflection. The process is changed significantly once an audience is invited into the feedback loop but the work of art is to keep the sensation vital, the currency of culture is in its circulation and therefore art is always a work in progress.

Waugh will present his thoughts on recent A Foundation work in the context of dialogues between the artist and the artwork and the role of the curator as a medium who tunes an audience into the obscure frequencies of feedback.
