News: UK Young Fashion Entrepreneur award 2010
02/11/09

As part of the British Council's UK Young Creative Entrepreneur programme, they are currently running a compeition to find the UK's Young Fashion Entrepreneur 2010. This award is being run for the second time and last year it was won by Nottingham based Simeon Hartwig.
Applicants compete for up to six places on a tour of the fashion industry in an emerging economy.
The aim of the tour is to provide a 'shorthand' for the industry there with the chance to meet with industry leaders as well as their peers so that they can understand how business is done there.
For this year's award the finalists will visit Indonesia whose potential as a market cannot be overstated. This really is an amazing opportunity for talented individuals to increase their international networks and gain valuable insights.

Applicants must be aged 25-35, with three years industry experience and be UK based. The British Council is happy to hear from those who aren't self-employed (as long as they can demonstrate their entrepreneurial ability) and from those in the social enterprise/not for profit sector.

Please spread the word about this award, especially to anyone who should apply.

Applications are now open and close on Monday 30th November 2009 at 2pm. For further information please visit the website www.creativeconomy.org.uk/UKYFE10
