News: UK Young Publishing Entrepreneur award 2010
05/11/09

As part of the British Council's UK Young Creative Entrepreneur programme, they are currently running a competition to find the UK's Young Publishing Entrepreneur 2010.

This award is being run for the fourth time and applicants compete for up to siz places on a study tour of the publishing industry in an emerging economy.

The aim of the tour is to provide a 'shorthand' for the industry there with the chance to meet with industry leaders as well as their peers so that they can understand how business is done there.
For this year's award the finalists will visit South Africa in February/March. The finalists will visit Cape Townand Johannesburg to learn about the dynamics of this vibrant sector, and attend the 13th Time of the Writer International Writers' Festival in Durban.

Applicants must be aged 25-35, with three years industry experience and be UK based. The British Council is happy to hear from those who aren't self-employed (as long as they can demonstrate their entrepreneurial ability) and from those in the social enterprise/not for profit sector.

Please spread the word about this award, especially to anyone who should apply.

Applications are now open and close on Monday 30th November 2009 at 2pm. For further information please visit the website www.creativeconomy.org.uk/ukype10
